Musk wants X to become the be-all, end-all application — EVERYTHING app — critically (for his greatest profit) including payments. Essential for success: acceptance of the kind Visa has just offered to provide, allowing widespread use of X for payment. Would you carry a Visa card with nowhere to use it?
Equally essential: lots of money coming into X. This is made more likely by Musk having his hands inside Treasury’s Bureau of Fiscal Services — its pay-outs to us in 2023 averaging $1 million per minute, $66 million per hour, $524 million per day. As much as Musk may enjoy having access to our sensitive personal identification and financial data, these dollars are an attraction too.
Visa has no business helping Musk as his actions endanger both our data and federal payments. Time to send Visa a message: stop helping Musk achieve his ambitions for X – STOP THE DEAL.
